1.  Why buy The Perfect Growler by Drink Tanks?

A: The Perfect Growler by Drink Tanks is the ultimate way to drink and enjoy your favorite drinks. The double-wall, vacuum-insulated containers keep liquids hot or cold for up to 24 hours. The Perfect Growler is a safe, toxin-free, earth-friendly and a health-conscious alternative to plastic, glass and aluminum. Constructed from lightweight, highly durable 18/8 stainless steel, the same as used in the dairy and brewing industries, your drink will not absorb any yucky unwanted flavors or harmful chemicals or leave any residual stains. The Perfect Growler by Drink Tanks carry a lifetime warranty, are BPA-free, reusable and recyclable. And the Perfect Growler’s exclusive Keg Cap™ by Drink Tanks is just like tapping a beer keg without having to do any heavy lifting.

2.  What colors do The Perfect Growler come in?

A:  The Perfect Growler comes in 8 stylish colors.  Silver, black (matted), blue (matted), red (matted), green (glossy), brown (glossy), white (glossy) and orange (glossy). Colors other then silver are created with a durable powder coating. The silver is just the stainless steel with no color.

3.  What's so great about double-wall vacuum insulation?

A: The Perfect Growler is constructed with a double-wall of stainless steel, which contains the insulating vacuum. This thermal layer keeps cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot ones hot for 12 hours. It also means no sweating or condensation, and no scorched fingers when filled with steaming hot tea!

4.  What is 18/8 stainless steel?

A: 18/8 stainless steel is an especially strong iron-based alloy, the combination of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It is extremely durable, easy to clean, long lasting and safe for food and beverages. 18/8 steel is the material of choice in the food, dairy and brewing industries, because it’s highly resistant to stains, rust and corrosion.

5.  What is BPA?

A: NO BPA is found in the Perfect Grolwers or the Perfect Growlers accessories. The Perfect Growler by Drink Tanks are completely free of BPA and consequently a much safer and healthier place to carry your drink than any plastic or lined aluminum container.  So what is BPA?  BPA or Bisphenol A is a potentially toxic compound used in the manufacture of most plastic bottles and containers. BPA has been linked with a number of illnesses and was declared a toxic substance in Canada in 2010. The Perfect Growler by Drink Tanks are completely free of BPA and consequently a much safer and healthier place to carry your drink than any plastic or lined aluminum container.

6.  What can I put in my Perfect Growler?

A: You can fill up your growler with anything your taste buds desire. Hot drinks such as coffee, cocoa, milk and tea will not impart flavors or stain the bottle. Acidic fruit juices are also fine as are beer, wine, spirits, sodas and of course, water.

7.  How do I care for and clean my Perfect Growler?

A: Simply wash your Perfect Growler or bottle by hand with warm, soapy water.  Regular hand dish washing soap works fine, maybe even a little baking soda. Rinse off the soap and air dry it upside down, preferably on a rack, and it will give you years of delicious drinking. But whatever you do, DO NOT put your Growler or bottle in a dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, freezer or any other heating device – this will void warranty.

8.  How do I care for my Keg Cap™?

A: Gently scrub the inside of the lid and rinse it well. Take care not to scratch the sealing ring inside the cap when cleaning. Run hot water through the open end of the Keg Cap™ hose while holding the tap open to clean the hose.

9.  How do I take my standard and Keg Cap™ lids off?

A: The Perfect Growler by Drink Tanks standard and Keg Cap™ lids must be in the correct position to ensure a tight seal to keep your favorite beverage fresh longer. It’s easy… Simply make sure the DRINK TANKS name stamped on the front lip of your lid is facing forward and opposite from the handle. The swivel bail (the wavy one) is designed to clip into the right bail groove on both the standard and Keg Cap™ lids. With this design there is no need to take your lid completely off to fill your growler. Your lid will swivel and stay attached for easy filling and resealing. To remove the lid, unlatch the double bail system and rotate the lid skyward to the 12 o’clock position. Gently remove the attached bail wire from the lid track.  CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO ON USING YOUR GROWLER'S STANDARD CAP

10.  How do I pressurize my growler?

A: Screw the black charger head onto the CO2 cartridge until tight. Charge your growler by holding the CO2 cartridge and placing the charger head on the Keg Cap™ inlet valve. Continue holding the CO2 cartridge and quickly press down on the Keg Cap™ inlet valve. The Keg Cap™ is design to release pressure at 10 PSI, which is about as much pressure as ringing a door bell. You do not need to charge your growler for more than a split second. You will hear pressure release from the clear pressure relief valve. DO NOT PRESSURIZE A FULL GROWLER. There is no room for the CO2 to go except out the relief valve, and you will be sprayed with beer. Poor off some beer into a glass and then pressurize your growler.  CLICK HERE TO SEE A VIDEO ON USING THE KEG CAP™ KIT SYSTEM

** PLEASE NOTE - It is VERY, VERY IMPORTANT that you pour out a glass worth of beer (at least 12 oz.) from The Perfect Growler before securing and pressurizing the The Keg Cap™ because a full growler has no room for C02.  If not, don't ask us to clean up the mess.  Also, you don't need too much C02 when pressurizing the Keg Cap.

11.  When do I use my standard lid or Keg Cap™?

A: We recommend you fill and transport your growler with the standard lid. Your beer will stay fresh and pressurized with the standard lid until the seal is broken (much like a can until it is opened). After you have opened your growler and poured off a beer (about 12 oz.), make sure to cap it with the Keg Cap™ to ensure fresh brew until the last drop.

12.  Where can I get more CO2 cartridges?

A: You can find both threaded and non-threaded CO2 cartridges online and at most hardware stores, and bike shops. Just make sure to get non-lubricated CO2. They usually cost just over $1.

13.  What does the Lifetime Warranty cover?

A:   Lifetime Warranty - The Drink Tanks™ growler is a labor of love, each one assembled by hand in the USA. They want all of their customers to enjoy the quality materials and workmanship that go into each growler for ages to come. We are so convinced Drink Tanks is the highest quality product available that, barring catastrophe or cataclysmic events, we guarantee your Drink Tanks growler against manufacturer defects for an entire lifetime. Drink Tanks’ Lifetime Warranty includes:

Broken or leaking standard caps:  If the standard cap on your growler breaks or begins to leak, we will replace the cap. All growlers come with an extra food grade silicone seal. So before contacting us, please replace your seal to see if this will fix the leak. Growler no longer insulates:  If it seems your Drink Tanks growler is no longer insulating effectively, you can perform a simple test by adding boiling hot water to the growler. Feel for warm or hot spots outside of the growler (below the upper band) after five minutes. No hot spots, no worries. If you feel hot spots the vacuum is no longer working and you are eligible for a replacement. Dents from normal wear and tear generally do not compromise the insulation qualities of your growler.  Peeling or Flaking Powder Coat:  If the powder coating is easily flaking off, usually in an area larger than a quarter, this is a defect that is covered by the warranty. A small amount of chipping caused by normal wear and tear of abrasion and impacts is not a defect and is not covered by the warranty.  Lifetime Warranty does not include:  Normal wear and tear that is not covered by the Drink Tanks warranty includes scratches, dents, powder coat chips, or disassembling the handle. Rubbing off or scraping off screen printing or laser engraving is not covered under warranty. Drink Tanks growlers are not to be placed in a freezer, cooler or ice box, and are not designed to be heated on a stove, in a microwave or oven, or other heat producing device. Freezing or heating your growler voids all warranties. Puncturing the outside or inside steel wall of your growler voids all warranty claims. The Keg Cap™ and other accessories are not covered under the Drink Tanks lifetime warranty.
